A glance at Bendinat
This is why you should rent a villa in Bendinat
Old Bendinat is the original seaside residential neighbourhood within easy reach of Palma’s centre 15 minutes away. It's also 20 minutes from the airport and five minutes from one of the trendiest marinas in Mallorca – Port Portals. You can find sandy beaches a five-minute walk away and access to some lovely seaside restaurants, shops and beach clubs.
Bendinat is made up of luxury apartments and villas as it is close to Palma and Puerto Portals, in contrast to more crowded areas such as Magaluf and Palmanova. Being a residential area, you can rub shoulders with locals who head to the pretty Illetas beach. Its name refers to a small island with an old watchtower that is located just offshore. While a popular spot, you can always find yourself a secluded little corner where you can cool off in the sea.
Recommended beaches near Bendinat
- Illetas beach: a very beautiful beach, with fine white sand, clear waters and a spectacular setting, plus two beach clubs. There is blue zone paid parking, though it can be hard to find a space.
- Cala Comtessa: sand and rock beach located near Illetas. It is accessed from a dead-end street and at the end is a small car park.
- Cala Bendinat: a small scenic beach is accessed directly from the residential area.
- Cala Xinxell: sand and rock area just west of Cala Comtessa. Access to the beach is from the coast. It has a car park that in high season fills up early.
- Cala Portals Nous: fine white sand beach, though parking can be difficult.

- Real Golf of Bendinat: a course in a sweeping wooded valley, consisting of 18 holes (Par 70) where you can enjoy the perfect combination of beauty and nature with views of the bay of Palma, Cabrera and Bendinat Castle.
What makes Bendinat special?
A genuinely exclusive atmosphere. Luxury and the sea are in perfect harmony in this neighbourhood, providing a relaxing holiday with all the top-end comforts. Here you can find Bendinat Castle, built between 1855 and 1867. The 3rd Marquis of la Romana, Pedro Caro, commissioned the building in the Central European Gothic style. The 2,800-acre estate has had several private owners, including the Count of Montenegro. You can see the castle from a distance, but it’s not open to visitors. If you want to visit a Christian castle open to the public, we recommend the Bellver Castle in Palma.
