How to enjoy your villa in the North East of Mallorca
The North East is sometimes known as the beach paradise of Mallorca. As the name suggests, this area is famous for its many beautiful sand beaches and stunning picturesque bays. One of the best beaches in this area is Cala Millor. This 2-km stretch of beach is a Mediterranean paradise for many tourists and has gained a reputation as being one of the best beaches in the Balearic Islands. Cala Agulla is also an amazing beach to visit and is a lovely place to spend the day enjoying the beautiful sea. Undoubtedly, the northeast is a perfect place to rent a villa facing the sea on an unspoilt coastline.
This part of Mallorca is also known for its peaceful resorts and nature parks. The area has remained under the radar while the rest of the island has been booming with tourists. This is a place where one can enjoy true peace and experience a way of life that is hard to come by nowadays. Part of the reason this area has remained untouched is that it includes the protected Península de Llevant nature park.
The heart of this area of Mallorca is the city of Manacor. It is not ideal for tourism but for tennis lovers, the Rafa Nadal Academy is located in this city. You can also find renowned leather and jewellery factories. The 'Pearl Capital' as Manacor is also called is widely known for its artificial pearls. Manacor is the founding city of the world-famous Majorica pearl manufacturer. The city brims with history and life and has significant architectural structures around the city that you’re sure to enjoy.
The North East is also home to some of Mallorca's oldest and most historical monuments and sites. One of them is the ancient Talaiotic settlement which is more than 4,000 years old. Another significant landmark is the 700-year-old Castell de Capdepera which is a fortified castle that was built by King Jaume II to protect the local population from pirate attacks.
Artà is a historically rich town that has clung to its heritage and supports a mainly local community. Artà provides visitors with an opportunity to experience some authentic Mallorcan culture. The town's main attraction is the fortified Santuari de Sant Salvador that overlooks this lovely town. It is also known for the ‘Via Verde’ route which goes all the way to Manacor and provides beautiful views. You have the option to either ride through the scenic route on a bicycle (rentals are easy to find) or even ride it on a horseback!
The hillsides and valleys in this area are full of some of Mallorca's best luxury villas. They give you a chance to experience a peaceful and comfortable stay while still being able to visit and immerse yourself in the local towns. We highly regard North Eastern Mallorca as one of the calmest and most relaxing places to stay and enjoy a magical holiday.
