The southeast part of the island is most commonly known for its many sandy beaches, culturally unchanged towns and some of the best resorts and retreats on the island. There are numerous medieval towns bursting with history, too, that remain surprisingly unknown to tourists. This has helped the area maintain its traditions and keep an authentic feel.

Do not, however, misjudge the southeast as boring! It is home to the wonderful towns of Felanitx and Santanyi along with several major attractions.

Felanitx is a lovely small town that beautifully encapsulates what the southeast is all about – peace and calm in lovely surroundings. The town is nowadays the second-largest wine region in Mallorca and is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts looking to experience winemaking in a beautiful and vastly different environment than that of the central region. Felanitx is also known for producing great white wines which is uncommon as Mallorca is known mostly for its reds. The town also has a sophisticated dining scene with many local and international restaurants.

Santanyi is another lovely southeastern town with all the ingredients for a lovely visit. The town is also brimming with art that brings it even more to life. There are many galleries to visit but the most interesting ones include Galeria Sailer and Casa de Arte. There is also a chance in Santanyi to take a part in Son Alegre Wine Cellar winetasting by booking a visit. This winery stands out due to the fact that it produces its wines under strict ecological guidelines making great wine and helping preserve the earth at the same time.

The most notable attraction in this region is no doubt the Drach caves in Porto Cristo also known as the Dragons caves. This cave system is an astonishing 1.5 kilometres long and is open to visitors. Inside the caves, impressive stalactite formations line the walls and ceilings. And that's not all, the caves also contain the largest underground lake in Europe hidden in its rocky depths. As you can imagine, this is a thrilling experience for most and for those looking for an adventure and a memorable holiday experience, this is the perfect place to feel a rush of adrenaline and make memories that last a lifetime.

While the southeast is indeed the quiet region it is most definitely not dull and neither are our luxury villas in Mallorca which are located conveniently near the towns of Santanyi and Felanitx.
