A glance at Capdepera
This is why you should rent a villa in Capdepera
Capdepera is a hidden jewel, not so commonly known but one which hides beautiful secrets. Located on the eastern side, Capdepera is an ancient Mallorcan town bursting with history. Set on a small mountain, the town has fantastic views to the mountains and the sea, and is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. Every where you turn there is fresh air and good vibes. In addition, it is surrounded by some of the most impressive beaches on the island. Therefore, all our villas in this area are in an unbeatable position.
Settled during the Bronze Age for its strategic location, Capdepera town dates from the times of King Jaume II built to protect the island citizens from pirate attacks. At the beginning, the idea of having to scale the mountains to build the town was not welcomed. However, it was not long before the king’s idea was fully appreciated. Each monument of the town, such as the Castle of Capdepera, is full of interesting stories which helps understand the essence of the town. In May, a Medieval Fair is celebrated at the castle to commemorate its foundation, and you can enjoy the amazing condition of the building and its nearby streets. Capdepera is filled with colour, light and music.
Well preserved by its townspeople and visitors, Capdepera promotes an environmental policy that helps preserving marine life and wildlife. The Llampuga festival in October is one of the most important events in Capdepera. Located at the bay, it is a gastronomic fair in which there is a variety of dishes made from the native llampuga fish, sometimes right on your table.
Its location gives you the opportunity to go from one seaside to another enjoying its clear waters and fine sand, as it is very close to some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

- Cala Gat: a beach of sand and rocks located near the Punta de Capdepera. The tone and clarity of the water in this area is exceptional. It is a very touristy area and its level of occupation can be high due to its natural surroundings and easy acces.
- Font de Sa Cala: a small beach of sand, stone and rocks. It is a beautiful beach with lovely views and natural shade.
- Cala Agulla: a sandy beach with the blue flag qualification, surrounded by a large pine forest. It is a very clean and natural beach. The sea is usually calm and the depth gradually decreases, so we recommend the beach to families with small children.
Restaurants
In Capdepera you will find many bars, cafes and restaurants, but it is worth mentioning the Roca Viva restaurant in the golf club where they offer Mallorcan gastronomy as well as international cuisine with local products (some from their own garden).
Golf
For golf lovers, the Capdepera Golf is one of its small secrets. Located between the castle and the town of Artà, it was designed by the US architect Dan Maples. The valley offers the chance to enjoy this sport in a remarkable surrounding.
